Costume & Make-up: THE FIGURE

The costume for this character is very typical. It is black, which represents death, despair and pain. It also conceals the characters idenity, which is perfect. It was inspired by the outfit used for the villains in "Hot Fuzz" by Simon Pegg & Nick Frost and has been made very similarly because it was perfect for the look we're going for.

The Parts

The Cloak: Billowy and forbidding. It distorts the build, height and physical aspects of the character so it makes it difficult ot work out who it might be. It can also make the character look larger and more dangerous. The hood covers the face well, casting a shadow, but other things are required to make sure facial features cannot be seen at all.

Balaclava: Covers the majority of the antagonists face, giving the audience no idea on who they are; not one chance of a glimpse, also it is black so it makes The Figure seem more menacing.

Turtle-Neck Jumper: Black so it blends in with the cloak and doesnt give away any physical attributes of the character.

Jeans: Again black, and easy to run in. They are also universal, either male or female could where them.

Black Shoes: Suitable for running in and keep in theme with the rest of the attire.

Leather Gloves: Keeps their hands concealed because everyones hands are individual and we dont want to risk finger prints, do we? Leather gloves are usually worn by the bad guys in films, so we decided to follow convention.

Make-up
Because the balaclava doesn't complete cover the face, round the eyes are pale and will give the audience a little idea of who the murderer is, which we don't want. So, by putting black eyeliner and black eyeshadow round the eyes, less light is reflcted an the only thing that might be seen will be the whites of their eyes. I think that will be creepy, but we shall try to shoot it at angles so that only black will be seen.
